Check out my inspiration for this ekphrastic poem here: https://www.artistaday.com/?p=143815. Arielle Pytka is the artist. I've written quite a few poems about the concept of clowns and this might be my favorite. Thanks again to Rattle for inspiration on ekphrasitc poems.

My mother and I visited Veranda of Pensacola, and we were impressed by the warm, welcoming atmosphere and how well the staff interacted with residents. The community felt bright and well-kept, with pleasant common areas. My mother appreciated the friendly energy and the sense of respect and dignity for all residents. It felt like a place where someone could live comfortably and with peace of mind.
