This poem is based on a story that has been told to me for years. I'm learning that it's better to talk about race than deny its existence and trying to pay attention and do more good than harm.  Know when to bend and learn, know when to stand. Never cave in.  I acknowledge that there is something very satisfying about any job well done.  I did have to stay inside somewhat today. For future folks who need to know what it was like in a pandemic: social media was not helpful. I've mostly stayed off it lately and went on for less than a minute today. It confirmed my hypothesis.  Shakespeare really knew what he was talking about.  |
