I believe everyone has a right to dignity. Are you paying attention? https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/28/us/philadelphia-walter-wallace-jr-shooting/index.html  I woke up with a poem on my mind and the other is in honor of this frightful season. :D   Reflecting on the underlying principles of my artistic expression.  Can you think of a time when you felt seen? Someone, maybe someone who didn't really know you well, notices something about you that you didn't notice until they called attention to it?  Thinking about the dangers of not living in line with your principles.  Shout out to Ally McGregor who is melodicmime on instagram for her poetry prompt. She encouraged me to do a free hand eyes closed random drawing, then make a list of the words that emerged from that drawing and create a poem from that list/variation. Here's what I made. Turns out, I was thinking about saving the earth.   Grace, dear reader, for these poorly written poems. You are definitely seeing more of a journal, an outlet, than an ode.  |
