You guessed it. I went to the 25th Anniversary of Riverdance performance in downtown Minneapolis. My reaction, fantastic performances, loved the added dance with the Brooklyn taps versus Riverdance cogs. I wished the casting had been more diverse overall though. I thought the band was exceptional. The percussionist was a marvel.
Best of all, I loved being in the audience, clapping with fellow fans, maybe reliving the joy the show brought to us so many years ago all together (that's what I was doing). I think one thing that makes me so happy is how the show does demonstrate the powerful way dance connects us. So many cultures and heritages feature an element of step dance and to see it in this elevated and joyful form is inspiring and unifying. Today I'm feeling very much in love with humanity. Happy Saturday, friends.
